Asbestos Awareness

Course Aim

This is a high impact and engaging half day course with a practical approach to raise delegate awareness about the hazards from exposure to asbestos in the workplace. The course follows the requirements of regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the relevant HSE Approved Codes of Practice.

All workers who are likely to disturb asbestos containing materials during their normal work should be trained so that they can work safely. This Asbestos Awareness (Category A) course is suitable for anyone who may be exposed to asbestos as part of their work so that they understand the dangers and can avoid any work which may disturb asbestos.

This includes, but is not limited to professionals, such as:

  • Heating and ventilation engineers.
  • Demolition workers.
  • Carpenters, joiners and construction workers.
  • Plumbers.
  • Roofing contractors,
  • Painters, decorators and plasterers.
  • Fire and burglar alarm installers.
  • Shop fitters.
  • Gas fitters.
  • Computer installers and telecommunications engineers.
  • General maintenance staff.
  • Cable layers and electricians.


It is also suitable for designers and Clients who have duties for managing asbestos or designing out the risks from asbestos containing materials present within their building.


The course can be conducted within your own premises, to a maximum of 10 delegates, or alternatively you could be added to one of our open courses run at a designated venue.

Requirements for training

The course is aimed at delegates with a limited knowledge of asbestos.
Good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.
A valid form of ID, such as a copy of your passport or driving license.
