The Robin Cancer Trust – Our Charity Partner

19th June 2020

It’s Small Charity Week, and we thought we’d take the opportunity to tell you a little about our charity partner, The Robin Cancer Trust (RCT). RCT is the UK’s only germ cell awareness charity and is based locally to us in Colchester.

RCT was founded in 2012 by the Freeman family following the untimely death of their son and brother, Robin Freeman, aged just 24. Now, Toby, Mark and Lorna work to raise awareness, reduce embarrassment and save young lives through the early detection of germ cell cancers. Germ cells are the cells in the body that make up the reproductive cells – sperm or eggs. Germ cell cancer affects men and women in the form of tumours in the testicles or ovaries.

Mark, who once worked for Daniel Connal Partnership some moons ago, came along to the launch event of DCP Safety & Training and gave us a moving and informative talk about losing Robin and the charity’s journey to today. We are super proud to partner with RCT and spread the word about #TalkingBollocks and #YoureNotOvaryacting by supporting their events and donating a percentage of the fees from our e-learning courses.

Take a look at their excellent website to see how you can join #TeamRCT too!
